For all permit applications, including those for Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Driveway, Pool, or Beverage, please submit your application online or visit City Hall to complete the necessary form. Alongside your application, please ensure that the appropriate fee, which varies depending on the type of permit, is included. After submitting your paperwork and payment, kindly contact City Hall at 615-654-3366 for further instructions once your application has been approved.

New Builds, Additions, Renovation, and Accessory Structures
All post-frame construction dwellings need to have an engineer design and stamped drawing before permit issuance (this includes barndominiums)
Subdivision of Property Information
Subdividing property is a process that requires time and careful steps. Please follow the instructions below:
- Complete the online application with accurate information.
- Pay the application fee; processing cannot begin until this fee is paid.
Once submitted, this information will be advertised. The Planning and Zoning Advisory Board will meet to begin the evaluation process and will make recommendations to the City Council. The City Council will make the final decision on the application.
Rezoning Property Information
- Complete the application via electronic submission or printing a copy and filling in with the correct information.
- Provide copy of deed to prove ownership.
- Provide aerial photograph of the property from TN Property Viewer
- Provide Legal description AND Survey of the areas to be rezoned including map and parcel number
- Provide water letter from utility company stating location and size of current water line, adequate pressure for domestic use and if/where fire hydrants are required.
- Pay the review fee of $500.00.
- Email supporting materials to orlindacityhall@cityoforlindatn.com if the application is submitted electronic no need to email the application again. If the application is not submitted electronically a copy will need to be emailed or brough into city hall.
- Attend the Planning Advisory Board meeting. Be ready to present and answer questions. Failure to appear at the Planning Advisory Board meeting may result in the denial of the application. They will then make their recommendations to City Council and the decision will be given by them.
Pool Permit Information
Pool or any part thereof, cannot protrude into the front yard. An inground pool and an above ground (if the wall of the pool is less than 36″) must have a wall or fence around it no less than 3ft in height and must be kept in good condition and have a gate that locks.
Beverage Permit Information
